The Gala has been held every summer in Willow Park since 1977, where it’s a fun entertaining family day out, that raises money for local charities. It attracts on average 2,500 visitors every year, and the numbers keep growing as the event gets more exciting.
Many of the local charities take the opportunity to attend the event, and raise money for their great causes. You can expect to find a selection of stalls (crafts, cakes, charities), children’s rides, inflatable slides/castles, face painting, a variety of local talent, music performances, and a raffle filled with fantastic prizes.
The Gala is a not for profit event run by volunteers, which is always looking for new people to help in whatever capacity possible – any help will be greatly appreciated.
Willow Park also happens to be the place J.R.R Tolkien came up with ideas for the Shire.
